HR Specialist
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced HR Specialist to join our team in Germany. This role will be responsible for providing full HR support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with German labor law, and fostering a positive culture. The HR Specialist will act as a trusted partner to managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, processes, and people development. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and experienced in balancing both administrative and strategic HR responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related topics.
Manage HR processes across the employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, contract management, performance management, and offboarding.
Ensure compliance with German labor laws (Arbeitsrecht), social security, tax regulations, and data protection (GDPR).
Support payroll preparation and liaise with external payroll providers.
Maintain and update HR policies, employee records, and HR systems.
Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
Support talent development initiatives, training programs, and employee engagement activities.
Contribute to global HR projects
Prepare HR reports and metrics for management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (further HR qualification a plus).
3+ years of HR experience in Germany, preferably in an international environment.
Strong knowledge of German labor and employment law.
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across teams.
High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken).
