Overview

We are looking for a Product Owner to play a critical role in driving the execution of key product initiatives across our Scientific Management Platform.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused 6-month full-time contract position, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time employee role in 2027.

You will operate at the intersection of product strategy and engineering execution— owning the product backlog, translating product and customer requirements into clear, actionable work in the Health and Bio Safety domain, ensuring high-quality delivery across complex initiatives, including projects in the Biosafety Space, such as risk assessments, regulatory reporting and procurement integration and including prior approval workflows.

Responsibilities

Backlog Ownership & Product Delivery

• Own, maintain, and continuously prioritize the product backlog across key initiatives (e.g., procurement integrations, biosafety workflows, regulatory reporting)

• Translate product requirements into well-defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Ensure backlog readiness by removing ambiguity and preparing work for upcoming sprints

• Define and enforce clear “definition of done,” quality gates, and acceptance criteria

Sprint Execution & Engineering Collaboration

• Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews

• Partner closely with engineering and design to ensure shared understanding of scope and requirements

• Monitor sprint progress, identify blockers, and drive timely resolution

• Track delivery using tools such as Jira and Confluence

Product Lifecycle & Initiative Delivery

• Support end-to-end delivery of product initiatives from scoping through MVP, Beta, and General Availability

• Define functional and technical requirements, including integration specifications and third-party dependencies

• Manage timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple workstreams

• Ensure complete and accurate documentation across all phases of delivery

Domain & Continuous Improvement

• Develop strong domain knowledge in scientific workflows, biosafety, and regulated environments

• Contribute to continuous improvement of product delivery practices and agile processes

• Collaborate on AI-enabled product features and workflows as part of SciSure’s AI-first strategy

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role in a SaaS or software product environment

• Strong experience with agile methodologies, backlog management, and sprint execution

• Proven ability to write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria

• Experience managing product delivery across complex, cross-functional initiatives

• Familiarity with integration-heavy products (APIs, third-party systems, data flows)

• Proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence

• Experience or familiarity with life sciences, biotech, laboratory systems, or regulated environments is strongly preferred

• Understanding of software delivery lifecycle, QA processes, and product development best practices.

• Exposure to procurement systems, compliance workflows, or enterprise SaaS environments is a plus

• Strong communicator with the ability to translate between business, technical, and customer audiences

• Ability to participate in and lead customer-facing product or security discussions during the sales process

• Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including executive audiences

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
