About SciSure

We believe scientific progress shouldn’t be hindered by fragmented systems, inefficiencies, or compliance burdens. SciSure is the result of a merger between two established names in digital lab technology: eLabNext, long respected for its ELN and LIMS capabilities, and SciShield, a trusted leader in EHS, compliance, and lab safety. We are the creators of the first Scientific Management Platform (SMP), bringing together experiment documentation, sample tracking, compliance, and integrations into a single, connected system. We have built a true home base for the modern lab. We unite the needs of scientists, EHS, and LabOps professionals in one integrated solution, delivering a seamless experience for safe, efficient, and reproducible scientific advancement. Overview

SciSure is building the Scientific Management Platform (SMP) — a unified, modern platform designed to serve researchers, scientists, and health and safety professionals at institutions around the world. As we transition SciShield Health & Safety onto the SMP, the quality and coherence of the user experience is critical to our success.

We are looking for a talented and driven UX Designer to take full ownership of the UX/UI for the Health & Safety domain. This is a senior individual contributor role sitting directly within the Product Organization, reporting to the Chief Product Officer. You will be the design voice for a complex, regulation-adjacent domain — translating the needs of EHS professionals, researchers, and institutional administrators into intuitive, modern product experiences.

Beyond domain ownership, you will play a key role in the adoption and consistent implementation of the SciSure common component library (Helix) across the SciSure product portfolio — helping set and uphold design standards that scale across domains and engineering teams.

What You Will Do

Domain Ownership — Health & Safety UX/UI

  • Own the end-to-end UX/UI for the SciSure Health & Safety domain, from discovery through to delivered product.

  • Translate complex EHS workflows — inspections, biosafety, medical surveillance, incident management, and more — into clear, efficient user experiences.

  • Maintain a coherent design vision for the domain across web and mobile surfaces, ensuring consistency as the product evolves.

  • Partner closely with Product Management to shape feature requirements, prioritize design work, and align on roadmap decisions.

Component Library & Design System

  • Champion and drive adoption of the SciSure common component library (Helix) across the Health & Safety domain and beyond.

  • Collaborate with designers and product teams across the SciSure portfolio to ensure consistent implementation of design standards.

  • Contribute actively to the evolution of the design system — identifying gaps, proposing new patterns, and documenting guidelines that support scalable, efficient design practices.

User Research

  • Plan and conduct user research to develop a deep understanding of the needs, behaviors, and pain points of researchers, scientists, EHS professionals, and institutional administrators.

  • Build and maintain user personas, journey maps, and use cases that ground design decisions in real user context.

  • Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights for the broader product and engineering team.

Interaction Design

  • Produce wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.

  • Design intuitive, efficient workflows that reduce friction for users navigating complex scientific and compliance processes.

  • Ensure all designs align with SciSure branding, the Helix component library, and established design guidelines.

Usability Testing

  • Plan and facilitate usability testing sessions to gather structured feedback on design prototypes.

  • Analyze results, identify patterns, and iterate designs to improve usability and user satisfaction.

  • Establish a continuous feedback loop that keeps design decisions grounded in observed user behavior.

Engineering Collaboration

  • Work closely with the US-based Engineering team to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented with fidelity.

  • Provide clear design specifications, assets, and guidance to support smooth developer handoff.

  • Participate in sprint reviews and engineering discussions to identify and resolve design implementation issues early.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate design concepts, rationale, and decisions clearly to stakeholders at all levels, including the CPO.

  • Represent the user perspective in cross-functional discussions and contribute to product strategy conversations.

What We Are Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/product design, ideally within enterprise SaaS or complex workflow-driven applications.

  • Demonstrable experience owning UX for a product domain end-to-end, not just executing on defined specs.

  • Strong interaction design skills with a portfolio showcasing thoughtful, research-informed design work.

  • Proficiency with modern design tooling (Figma preferred) including prototyping and component-based workflows.

  • Experience working with or contributing to a shared design system or component library.

  • Comfort working directly with engineering teams and translating designs into developer-ready specifications.

Domain & Context

  • Experience designing for complex, data-dense enterprise applications — prior exposure to life sciences, EHS, research, or regulated industries is a strong advantage.

  • Ability to quickly develop fluency in a new domain and earn the trust of subject-matter experts and power users.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Excellent communicator who can present and defend design decisions with clarity and confidence.

  • Comfortable working across time zones in close collaboration with a US-based engineering team.

  • Self-directed and proactive — able to manage your own workload and priorities in a fast-moving product organization.

  • Collaborative by nature, with a track record of building strong working relationships with Product, Engineering, and commercial stakeholders.

Why Join SciSure

  • Direct access and visibility to executive leadership — this role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer.

  • Work on a product that genuinely matters: SciSure protects researchers, keeps laboratories compliant, and supports some of the world's most important scientific work.

  • Significant ownership and autonomy — you will shape the UX of a major product domain, not fill in a design queue.

  • A company in the middle of a major platform transformation, creating real opportunities for high-impact design contributions.

  • A collaborative, talented team that values craft, curiosity, and getting things right for users.
